What are government heat pump grants and how do I qualify?

The UK government have launched initiatives aimed at encouraging homeowners to replace their fossil fuel heating systems with low-carbon alternatives, such as heat pumps. The scheme offers grants of £7,500 for air source heat pumps.

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Own the Property: The scheme is open to homeowners, including landlords and private residential property owners.
  • Install Eligible Systems: The installation must be carried out by a certified installer under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).
  • Meet Technical Requirements: The property must have adequate insulation and energy efficiency to support the heat pump’s performance.
